Fareham Community Hospital shortlisted for national awards

NHS Hampshire is pleased to announce that one of its newest facilities, Fareham Community Hospital, has been shortlisted for three national Partnerships Bulletin Awards.

The hospital has been shortlisted in three categories – Best Healthcare Project, Best Community/User Involvement in a Project and Best Designed Project.

Opening in June 2010, the new hospital has been warmly welcomed by both staff and patients. The facility is a LIFT building which was commissioned by NHS Hampshire in partnership with LIFT company, Solent Community Solutions. It was nominated for the awards by its architects at Broadway Malyan and The Cornerstone Arts Foundation who were responsible for working with the local community on designing artwork for the patient areas.

“We are really pleased to see so many different aspects of this new facility recognised in a national competition,” said Inger Hebden, director of capital planning for NHS Hampshire. “We have spent a great deal of time working with the local community, patients and staff to make sure the hospital was the best facility possible and are delighted with this recognition.”

The awards received a record number of entries this year and the ceremony will be held on May 12, 2011 at the London Hilton Park Lane.
